Dutch Weekly March 29 - April 5

Summer Programs registration opens April 1

It's almost time to register your child for Holland Hall's popular Summer Programs!

This year's camp line-up is better than ever, with popular sessions like Lego Robotics, Field Hockey and Superheroes and Skyzone Training Camp returning and new sessions like Outward Bound — a camp that explores the natural world through the Holland Hall campus — beginning.

Eight weekly sessions begin with Session 1 on May 28-31. There will be no camp the week of July 4th.

To register, go to hollandhall.org/summer or click here for more information about Summer Programs.

Free student physical exams on May 7

All students from Kindergarten through 12th grade — as well as any Summer Programs students taking athletic/sports camps — must have a yearly physical exam on file with the school, and Advanced Orthopedics of Oklahoma has partnered with the school to give free exams to students in 6th-12th grades.

Mark your calendars to take advantage of free physical exams on May 7, and watch for more information to come.

The Self Family Welcome Center is almost complete

Now that the Welcome Center — which has informally been called the gatehouse — is almost ready and arms have been installed, there will be some traffic pattern changes.

The arms will be open during the peak drop-off and pick-up times. But families accessing campus outside of those windows of time will have two options — come through the community lane, which will have an automated system that will be announced soon, or the visitor lane, where a campus safety officer will be stationed.

Please be watching for signage, cones and pay attention to our safety officers as they direct traffic.

Our wonderful campus is made for children to explore, and to keep them as safe as possible, we ask that you listen to the officers and please mind your speed. The posted limit is 14 mph for very good reason.

Be watching for an email with details soon!

Make plans to celebrate Gezellig — the biggest event of the year

Loosely defined from Dutch, Gezellig means "feeling cozy, usually with friends or loved ones."

Not only is the word Dutch, but we think that describes our wonderful Holland Hall family!

Gezellig is an annual online auction and an every-other-year fundraising event that supports the school's mission of providing the highest level of education anywhere.

You love our faculty. You love our students.  You love OUR SCHOOL! Gezellig is one of the best ways to get involved, so here are some things to know!

Online auction starts April 15

Mark your calendars for our annual online auction! Available items include spa experiences, restaurant certificates, sports packages, and more from our amazing Tulsa and Holland Hall community!

The auction will open on April 15 at 8 a.m. and close the April 19 at 9 p.m.

Join the Club: Attend the party on April 20

Secure your VIP table now by becoming a patron!

The event will take place on campus in a completely transformed space — from the very creative mind of Alumni Parent Annie Brady of Annie Brady Design.

You'll enjoy food, drinks, a thrilling live auction with incredible items up for grabs, and more festivities.

Patron benefits and registration can be found here. Contact Sydney May at smay@hollandhall.org for more information.

What's up with those cool illustrations to the right?

That's a sneak peek at some of Holland Hall's legends and icons — those HH faculty, students and visionaries who embody this year's theme. They're dreamers. They're change-makers. They're out-of-the-box thinkers who our students try to emulate to this day.

We will be announcing those legends and icons in the coming days. But can you identify them now from the clues?

Please fill out this important parent survey

You recently received an email with a survey from ISAS, the Independent Schools Association of the Southwest, which is responsible for accrediting Holland Hall and many other independent schools in the region.

Our latest accreditation work has begun, and it is vitally important that ISAS receives feedback from all of the school’s stakeholders — students, parents, faculty and the Board of Trustees.

The survey linked below will close on April 4.  Please note that participation in the survey sends a strong message to ISAS about our families’ engagement and care for our school and for our mission. Thank you!

April 8 eclipse information and an opt-out form

As we prepare for the upcoming solar eclipse on April 8, the safety and well-being of our students remain our priority. While our location will not experience complete totality, it is crucial for us to be prepared and ensure the safety of all students during this event. Students in grades EPK, PreK, and JK will not participate in outdoor eclipse observation activities.

Students in grades K, 1, 2, and 3 will have the opportunity to observe the eclipse outdoors, accompanied by teachers and teaching assistants. During the height of the eclipse viewing period, students will be provided with protective eyewear approved by the school. It's important to note that students will only be allowed outside during this time while wearing the provided protective eyewear. Outdoor recess scheduled during this time will be postponed. We have ensured that the protective glasses purchased meet all safety requirements and standards for viewing solar eclipses. For families who choose to opt-out of outdoor eclipse viewing, alternative arrangements will be made. If you wish for your child to opt-out, please notify Kindi Walker at kwalker@hollandhall.org or print out and return the form below.
