Chef Jenny from FLIK, Officer Eric from Security, and counselor Cassie Gray will be speaking briefly. There will be time for questions and mingling with other parents. Coffee will be provided.

New addition to PS wellness announced

Our Primary School is adding to its wellness curriculum for all students for Preschool through 3rd Grade. “Stepping Up at Holland Hall” will feature Kristen Lees as the main teacher.

Second Step is a research-based curriculum designed to promote social and emotional skills in children and adolescents. If you would like more information about Second Step, you can find more information here. Additionally, we will be speaking briefly about this at the Primary School Parent Association meeting on Oct. 4.

Reminder: nut policy in the PS

The Primary School is a "nut aware" area. We need your help keeping everyone safe.
Snack Time: We kindly ask that you refrain from sending any snacks containing nuts or nut products with your child to school. This includes items such as peanut butter sandwiches, granola bars with nuts, and any other nut-related snacks.

Lunch
If you choose to pack a lunch for your child from home and it contains any nut products, please be sure to clearly label these items within the lunchbox. This allows us to identify and safely manage any potential allergens.

Thank you for your attention to this matter.

PS Lunchroom volunteers needed

Volunteer in the Primary School lunchroom! Do you want to see your child at lunch? Do you want to participate in mealtime without cooking or washing dishes? Then come serve lunch in the PS lunchroom! We are in need of parent volunteers to serve meals to kids who buy school lunch. It is a once monthly commitment from 11:20 a.m. - 1 p.m. Visit the link to get more info and to sign up!

Notes from the Nurse — Flu Season

It may seem early, but the flu has already begun in the Tulsa area. Here’s some flu facts to help you be better prepared for the 2023-24 flu season.

Flu symptoms usually come on suddenly.  Similarly to COVID, an individual may have one or more of these symptoms.

  • fever* or feeling feverish/chills (*not everyone has a fever)
  • cough
  • sore throat
  • runny or stuffy nose
  • muscle or body aches
  • headaches
  • fatigue (tiredness)
  • vomiting and diarrhea (more common in children)

Protecting yourself and others from the flu -

  1. Get vaccinated, if you are able.  Mark your calendar for HH flu shots, 10/18/23!
  2. Avoid close contact, if you are sick or from someone who is sick.
  3. Stay home when you are sick.
  4. Cover your mouth and nose with tissue when coughing or sneezing.
  5. Wash your hands.
  6. Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth.
  7. Practice other good health habits. (Get plenty of sleep and physical activity, stay hydrated, eat nutritious foods)

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to one of your school nurses.
