Upper School club feeding homeless on Easter
The Upper School SPUD (Students Participating in Unselfish Deeds) Club is partnering with the Tulsa Day Center to provide dinner for the homeless population on Easter (April 20). This is a wonderful opportunity for us to come together and give back to those in need.
We need your help to make this event possible! We have planned a meal for over 100 people and are asking for volunteers to help by preparing or purchasing specific food items. The main dish will be spaghetti (which we are having catered), and we need contributions for side dishes, drinks, and desserts.
As well as making/purchasing a meal, we would love for you to join us to serve that meal on the evening of April 20.
If you are interested in donating/making an item or serving, please see the document below with all the details. We have included what food items we need to make, a place to sign up, and drop-off details.
Thank you for your generosity and support. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out at leahbeakey@gmail.com.

There has been one additional case of measles identified in Oklahoma City and the individual was in public settings while contagious. OK Measles Case Summary is updated on Tuesdays and Fridays. For more frequent updates, follow the Oklahoma State Department of Health on Facebook.
The symptoms of measles are cough, runny nose, red eyes, fever, and later, a rash develops.
Remember, measles is highly contagious. If you have any symptoms or may have been exposed to the measles, do not go to a medical facility. Isolate yourself and contact your health care provider immediately.
The best way to prevent measles is with the measles vaccine(s). If you have questions about your (or your child’s) immunization status, please contact your physician.
If you have any other questions, feel free to contact Kathleen Alabbasi, RN, or Kimberly Seabolt, RN at nurse@hollandhall.org.

MS service efforts to focus on campus
Given the many disruptions this term, the student council has decided to shift its service efforts to on-campus opportunities rather than spending Wednesday, April 30, off-site. Instead, they will be working on ways to serve the school community during non-academic windows over the coming weeks.
Our goal is to provide meaningful opportunities for students to contribute without impacting instructional time. We will keep you updated as plans develop and appreciate your support in encouraging participation.

3rd to 4th Grade Parent Open House is May 6
WHAT: Fourth Grade Parent Open House
WHEN: 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 6. Presentation begins at 5:45 p.m. in the library
WHO: This evening is for parents only
We are hosting a parent Open House for incoming 4th-grade parents beginning at 5 p.m., Tuesday, May 6. This time will be for you to meet the teachers, visit classrooms, and walk around the middle school. At 5:45 p.m., we will have a presentation in the Middle School Library. You will meet deans, counselors, and learning support folks as we all share a bit about what you can expect in the next phase of your child's educational path.
As you may already know, the structure of a typical school day is quite different in middle school. Instead of being assigned to one teacher and staying with that teacher for the majority of the day, each fourth-grader will be assigned to a homeroom/Advisory*. During the school day, the students will rotate between classes with their homeroom group.
Middle School Advisory Placement Policy
Our goal is to create balanced, inclusive, and supportive advisory groups where every student can thrive. The placement process involves careful consideration of various factors, including academic diversity, social-emotional well-being, and group dynamics. To ensure fairness and equal consideration for all students, we will not be taking or honoring specific requests for teachers or classmates. This policy allows our faculty to thoughtfully create environments that support each student’s growth and foster a positive learning community. Thank you for trusting us to make decisions with the best interests of your child and the entire school community in mind.
In 4th grade, students have their own iPads and emails and focus on learning to use technology in a responsible manner while also using technology to support and enhance learning. Students in 4th grade also learn to keep a daily agenda to help manage their time and their work. Unlike the “specials” schedule in the PS, 4th grade has two different rotation periods in the school day. Students are exposed to Spanish, French, Drama, Library, Technology and Religious Education while continuing to experience Art, Music, and P.E.
6th-8th Grade Exams are May 12-14

8th Grade Promotion
The 8th Grade Promotion is set for Thursday, May 15, at 6 p.m. in Branch Theater with a dance following until 8:30 p.m.

Reminders about US absences
Attendance Policy
Parents must inform Mrs. Alford, US Attendance Coordinator, by 8 a.m. at USattendance@hollandhall.org or 539-476-8287 if a student will be absent from school or tardy to school.
Planned Absences
Students who have a planned school-related absence OR personal absence need to complete an absence form. This requires them to meet with each teacher to discuss any work they may miss while they are out. The form should be completed, signed by a parent, and then turned in to Mrs. Alford prior to the scheduled absence. These forms can be found in the US Business Office by Mrs. Alford’s desk.
Arriving Late/Leaving Early
Parents must notify Mrs. Alford via email or phone call if their student(s) will arrive late to or leave early from campus. Students should communicate directly with teachers to discuss any work they missed due to their late arrival or early departure.
