Basketball playoffs come to Holland Hall next week
Cheer on the Boys Varsity basketball team as they start regional play at home on Thursday, Feb. 24.
The 5A East Regional games start at 6 p.m. Thursday with Holland Hall taking on Pryor. At 7:30 p.m., Tahlequah plays Coweta. Games continue Friday and Saturday.
ADMISSION: $7 for students and adults online and $10 cash at the gate. OSSAA playoff passes only. The admission gate is located on the northwest corner of the Upper School Gym.
The Girls basketball team will play Bishop Kelly at Sapulpa at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week is almost here!
Holland Hall will celebrate our creative, hard-working, and dedicated staff and faculty with chair massages, lunch, breakfast, drinks, snacks, yoga, compliments, and expressions of gratitude Monday, February 26 through Friday, March 1.

College Forum is rare chance to talk to admission deans
Plan to join us Monday evening, March 4, at 6 p.m. for the 38th annual College Forum in the A.R. and Marylouise Tandy Dining and Wellness Center's Lawson Conference Room. This event is free and open to the public.
Holland Hall’s annual College Forum is sponsored by the College Counseling office. It is the first program of its kind in Oklahoma and has a wonderful and rich history. Dating back to 1985, this event hosts top college admission professionals from across the United States. These experts in their field will discuss current trends in college admission, talk a bit about their own institutions, and answer any questions you might have.

2024 Goddard Scholarships for 6th and 9th grade students available
The Les and Ellen Goddard Merit Scholarship Program provides outstanding 6th and 9th grade students the opportunity to attend Holland Hall as merit scholars. The Scholarship Committee selects recipients on the basis of entrance exam test scores, recommendations, grades from the candidate’s present school, and a personal interview. The program is open to all new students entering 6th and 9th grades in 2023-2024 and current Holland Hall 8th-graders.

Grandpa Vanderhof and his wacky family, the Sycamores, have been happily living their zany lives in his house by Columbia University in New York for many years. This family (and their friends) are a madcap group of eccentrics, marching to the beat of their own drum, with pride and joy. But when practical young Alice Sycamore becomes engaged to her company’s vice president, Tony Kirby, the Vanderhof/Sycamore clan must straighten up to meet the new in-laws. It isn’t until Grandpa’s wise speech to Mr. Kirby about the importance of living life to the fullest that the two families find a way to accept each other, and love conquers all. "You Can’t Take It With You" is a madcap, idealistic comedy that reinforces the idea that you can only live life to the fullest by doing whatever makes you happy.

The nonprofit group Downtown Tulsa Partnership is working on a Curbside Haiku public art initiative. Each spring, DTP and partners adorn Downtown’s public right-of-way with poetry and visual art celebrating the neighborhood’s vibrancy and inclusivity.
Students of all ages in the Tulsa metro are encouraged to submit up to (5) five haiku about Downtown Tulsa. Teaching and support staff are welcome to submit, too! The application deadline is 11:59 p.m. on Friday, March 1.

Field hockey great comes to Holland Hall
Join 1988 and 1996 US Field Hockey Olympian and University of Michigan Head Field Hockey coach Marcia Pankratz and her staff for a field hockey clinic at Holland Hall!

Distances vary from the 1 mile fun run/walk, 5k (3.1mi), and 10k (6.2mi). All abilities, grade levels, and family members are welcome! Registration includes free admission to the zoo following the race, as well as a shirt.

American Exchange Project seeking host families
The American Exchange Project, America’s first free domestic exchange program, is looking for host families from Holland Hall to join us as we connect the country.
Through AEP, seniors embark on an all-expenses-paid, week-long trip to an American community very different from their hometown after graduating from high school, where they get immersed in area culture and history, live with a local family, and make friends for life. AEP students also welcome visiting students within their own hometown during another week of the summer. This is AEP’s first year in Tulsa; the program is coordinated locally by Leonardo De Andrade, Chair of Holland Hall’s World Languages Department and Spanish teacher in the Upper School.
AEP seeks Holland Hall families who can host one or more visiting students in their homes from Wednesday, July 24 to Wednesday, July 31. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for visiting students to experience day-to-day life in Tulsa and for families to meet someone from another part of the United States. Responsibilities include transporting the student(s) to and from the airport and providing two square meals a day; hosts will receive a stipend to help offset food, transportation, and other costs. Interested families should sign up through the AEP website.

Tulsa Ballet's 'Romeo & Juliet' offers HH discount

This emotionally stunning ballet combines intensity and passion to portray William Shakespeare’s tragic story of two star-crossed lovers. Commissioned by Tulsa Ballet in 2012 to star choreographer Edwaard Liang, Dance Magazine celebrated the production by saying that Liang’s “inventive choreography served the story with flair.” Join us for an evening full of romance, delightful moments of comedy, thrilling sword-fighting and one of literature’s most heart-breaking conclusions.

Come meet with the college counseling team for a college preparation discussion relevant to a 9th grade student.

Just after the 9th Grade chat, college counseling will host the 10th grade parents for a discussion relating more to 10th grade students and the college process.

5th Grade heads to Biztown
The fifth graders will make their annual pilgrimage to JA Biztown on Wednesday, February 21. This Junior Achievement program allows for a culminating simulation day experience where the students run one of fourteen locally sponsored businesses. In preparation for this event, the students have been learning basic economic concepts, discussing what it means to be a citizen, and working in small groups to develop their business plans.
