New visitor check-in system installed

Holland Hall is changing the visitor check-in system the school uses. Student and staff safety is a top priority at Holland Hall. Every visitor is screened against sexual offender registries and government watch-lists, while keeping up-to-date visitor information and records. Our new system, Visitor Aware, speeds up, simplifies, and strengthens this process.

The next time you visit the school, please remember your Driver's License to do a one-time setup in Visitor Aware. From then on, Visitor Aware uses facial recognition when you need to check-in or check-out of buildings or at events at Holland Hall.

New website launches

Holland Hall has a new website! Over the weekend, you may see changes roll out at hollandhall.org. The goal was to create a site that was easier to navigate for prospective families, the community and our parents. Thank you to HH alum Susan Pray '85 Rainey of Yellow Dog Design Works for her work designing the site, and webmaster Greg Spencer '99 for building it out.

You will find a Parent tab at the top of the website — or in the hamburger menu on the right-hand side of the screen. Any information you need as a parent can be found in this tab. You'll still use the Parent Portal, gotohh.org/parentportal, to access most of your child's information. But the website is a handy resource to link you to the portal — or give you a quick snapshot of information without having to log in to a site. This is where you will find book lists, dress codes, handbooks, calendars and more.

Middle School News

School Absences

With the rising number of absences, we want to remind you of the following:

If your child is ill at home, rest and healing is the priority. With an accumulation of absences, the child's advisor will help them catch up on work upon return to school as needed. As a general rule, students will be allowed one day per day missed to make up all assignments and assessments. We will certainly allow students who are out for five days a little more time to get caught up, as necessary.

If your child is at home but able to do schoolwork, PSL is the place to go. We have asked teachers to be diligent about posting information on PSL. If your child needs additional information, he/she should email the teacher.

Communication is the key. Please be in touch with our school nurse and ask your child to be in touch with advisor and teachers so that we can all jointly support our students.

Lost and Found

Lost water bottle? Check lost and found.
Lost lunch box? Check lost and found.
Lost jacket? Check lost and found.
Lost athletic clothes, gloves, uniform shirts/shorts, belts...check lost and found.

We have a lot of items that need to find owners.

Help us help you by labeling everything your child brings to school.

Learning specialists want parent feedback

The Middle School learning specialists provide direct support for teachers and curriculum and for students in all five grade levels. Their hope is to expand support to parents. There are times during a student's educational career when they will need help at home, and we want our parents to feel confident and informed about best practices to provide "just right" academic support.

So they're asking for feedback.

You can access the survey by clicking here.
