Dutch Weekly July 19-26

Enjoy these last weeks of summer! But first ...

To make August a little easier on everyone, here is a checklist of things to do before school starts on August 21.

Annual Forms — You should have received an email on July 19 if you haven't completed Annual Forms for one of your students. Please take a moment to do that now on the Parent Portal.

Physicals — Physicals are required to be in date before a student can start school. You should get an email from the school nurse if your child's has expired.

Immunizations — HH utilizes the Oklahoma State Immunization Registry (OSIIS) for monitoring immunizations for school. If your child's information is incomplete in OSIIS, you will receive an email from the school nurse.

Order Books — Check your child's class list on the Parent Portal, then go to MBS Direct Bookstore for the required books and correct ISBN numbers. You can order books from another source, but make sure the ISBN numbers match the edition on MBS. (See links below)

Buy Uniforms — Please see the the note below.

Uniforms/Spiritwear

C&J Uniforms

Uniforms may be purchased locally at C&J Uniforms, 7923 E. 51st St., or online at My APlus Uniforms, tulsa.myaplusuniforms.com. Uniforms are included in Oklahoma's tax-free weekend, Aug. 2-4.

Dutch Exchange

The Dutch Exchange in the A.R. and Marylouise Tandy Dining and Wellness Center is open to families between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday all summer long. Shop from gently used uniforms, spirt shirts, hoodies and more. And feel free to drop off any gently used outgrown uniforms and spiritwear for other families to utilize.

Dutch Zone

The Dutch Zone is open by appointment any time this summer. Hoodies and sweatshirts purchased in the Dutch Zone may be worn with school uniforms. T-shirts can be worn every Friday (unless otherwise noted by a branch head) with non-athletic bottoms. Shirts must be purchased or obtained from the DutchZone, Athletics or another school department. Email aparrish@hollandhall.org or cmcconnell@hollandhall.org to reserve a time to shop.

All parents are also invited to shop the special Dutch Zone Pop-Up Shop in the Primary School Gym from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19. There will be some Bash exclusives (we see you, tie-dye!), so come shop, but please avoid the peak shopping times near the top of each hour.

Support your team! Become a 2024-25 Dutchbacker

As we are approximately one month from the start of the fall sports season, it is time to gear up for an exciting 2024-25 athletic year. Dutchbacker sponsorships and memberships are now posted on the Holland Hall website: 2024-25 Dutchbacker membership/sponsorship. Please note that reserved parking spots sold out quickly last year so be sure to reserve your spot.

New digital Dutch Athletic passes: This year we will be using digital Dutch athletic passes for admittance instead of the key tag. Each membership/sponsorship will be given a code to upload your digital athletic pass for use for every HOME athletic event. Once you sign up for Dutchbackers, a code will be sent to you after August 1 for you to upload to your phone. Be sure to download the GoFan app to your phone.

We will again be having three media guides this year: fall, winter and spring. We need all media guide ads and scoreboard logos by August 15. We hope to have the fall media guide available in early September.

Thank you for your support of Dutch athletics! Have a great rest of your summer and please be in touch with any questions!

PRIMARY SCHOOL

Join us for the EPK Playground Playdate

EPK Playground Playdate

Date: August 8
Time: 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Location: EPK and Pre-K Playground (playgrounds around the circle just northeast of the Pre-School Building). You can enter the main gates and follow the street around to the shaded parking north of the playground.

We know that the first day at a new school can feel exciting and a little scary (for students and parents too!). To help your EPK students prepare, the Parents' Association is hosting an EPK Playground Playdate for the incoming Early Pre-K (3-year-old) class!

This will allow your student to become more familiar with the space and make connections with other students before the big day arrives! Please join us for snacks, bubbles, and a little playground fun.

Primary School Back-to-School Bash is Aug. 19

Save the Date for Monday, Aug. 19 ,for the Primary School Back-to-School Bash! Come ready to catch up with old friends, meet some new friends, and have a jumpin' good time with inflatable bounce houses in the Primary School Gym. Parents can shop the Pop-Up Dutch Zone and pick up car decals while students play. We kindly ask that students attend only during their own grade's assigned time and without siblings to give parents and students in each grade dedicated time to engage.

The Pop-Up Dutch Zone will be restocked throughout the day, so we hope to have plenty of selection for the later time slots.

EPK: 9:00 - 9:45 a.m.
PreK and JK: 10:00 - 10:45 a.m.
K: 11:00 - 11:45 a.m.
1st: 12:00 - 12:45 p.m.
2nd: 1:00 - 1:45 p.m.
3rd: 2:00 - 2:45 p.m.

New workshop for seniors ready to write college essays

Holland Hall offers a special program in the summer just for rising seniors. The College Application Writing Workshop is designed for students who want to write, revise or workshop their college entrance essays. Taught by Upper School English Teacher Whitney Schmidt, the workshop should jump start the writing process and help students determine what kind of essay best represents who they are and who they want to become. A morning session is set for 9 a.m.-12 p.m. The cost is $185.

To register, go to hollandhall.org/summer.

New information for senior picture contacts
